Interviews with Tamar

Aaron Paley interviews Tamar Rogoff about her work on the Ivye Project, which later became the film Summer in Ivye. Included in this hour and a half are excerpts from the live performances of Daughter of a Pacifist’s Soldier and site-specific, community based Demeter’s Daughter, performed on the Lower East Side.

Rogoff discusses her career as a Bharata Natyam dancer in India and answers Paley’s questions about her Jewish identity.

Tamar and Gregg Mozgala were invited to present the work they did together in preparation for the dance performance Diagnosis of a Faun, later to become the subject matter for the documentary Enter the Faun. This TEDInnovate talk was at Columbia University Medical Center’s inaugural medical conference that brings together ideas in innovation and CUMC, the city of New York, and beyond!
